OVERVIEW

Chris structures, drafts, and negotiates a broad range of technology and commercial agreements, including patent, trademark, copyright, know-how, trade secret, and software licenses, SaaS and cloud services agreements, AI and data licensing arrangements, outsourcing and OEM agreements, consulting and strategic alliances, product development and manufacturing agreements, reseller and distribution agreements, and other complex commercial transactions.

A significant part of Chris's practice is dedicated to helping companies navigate emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. He advises clients on AI product development and commercialization, data rights, model training and licensing issues, governance policies, vendor and customer agreements, and the evolving regulatory landscape. His practical, business-oriented approach helps clients responsibly deploy AI while managing legal and operational risks.

Chris also counsels clients on intellectual property strategy and portfolio management, helping businesses identify, protect, and leverage their IP assets. He regularly advises on freedom-to-operate analyses, open-source software compliance, IP due diligence, technology transfers, and enforcement strategies designed to maximize the value of innovation and support long-term business objectives.

His data privacy and cybersecurity practice includes advising clients on compliance with GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws, and other evolving data protection requirements. He works with organizations to develop privacy programs, negotiate data-related agreements, and implement practical governance frameworks that align legal obligations with business needs.

Chris frequently advises on the intellectual property and technology aspects of complex corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, financings, and bankruptcy matters. He conducts IP and technology due diligence for buyers, sellers, and investors and helps clients identify and address key risks associated with valuable technology assets.
